The final and the last destination is Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The shrine is situated between Nar and Naryan Mountain Range and lies on the bank of Alaknanda River. It is believed that Lord Vishnu meditation here and his consort Lakshmi became a berry tree to protect him. Every year more than 2,50,000 pilgrims visit Chardham during the peak season to get the blessings. May to mid July is the best time to visit and Again September to October is the good time. On the day of Akshya Tritiya Yamunotri and Gangotri shrines opens and closes on the day of Bhai Dud after two days of Diwali. During the winter season Chardham is close for the next six months due to heavy snowfall. According to the legend it is believed that Adi Shankracharya was the founder of Chardham. Adi Shankracharya Samadhi was situated near the Badrinath Temple. During Chardham you also visit Auli, Barkot, Chamba, Chopta, Dehradun, Devprayag, Gaumukh, Gaurikund, Guptakashi, Hanumanchatti, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Jankichatti, Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Sitapur, Srinagar, Tehri, Ukhimath, Uttarkashi etc. Chardham is required to 11-12 days for complete the yatra.
