Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery is a graduate degree. B.A.M.S is the shortened form of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. The program is having a duration of 5 years including a one-year internship program. The Central Council of Indian Medicine observes Indian Ayurvedic Education. CCIM is a statutory Central Government Body. Currently, there are 154 recognized Undergraduate and 33 Postgraduate B.A.M.S institutes in India. Once an aspirant completes the B.A.M.S program from a recognized university, they will be known as Ayurvedacharya . The syllabus of this course is a mixture of integrated topics of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. Many institutes in India offer the program. Eligibility Criteria :
1. Candidate Must qualified NEET Exam as per his/her category i.e. General/Open Category, OBC, ST, SC, Handicapped or Kashmiri Migrants etc.
2. The qualification needed for the B.A.M.S program is a pass in an intermediate program with Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Sanskrit. The candidate must pass +2 from a recognized board.
3. The minimum age limit is 17 years. Some colleges also provide certificate programs from 1 to 2 years. Qualification needed for such program is Matriculation withSanskrit or an equivalent exam.
