St Joseph's College, Bangalore was founded in 1882 by the Fathers of the French Foreign Mission. It is one of the oldest colleges in the state of Karnataka with a history of more than 135 years. It has been conferred as College of Excellence by the University Grants Commission. The college is awarded a rating of A++, in the re-accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2018.
St Joseph's College, Bangalore offers BA, B.Sc., B. Com, BCA, B.Voc., and Bachelor of Social Work degree courses at the undergraduate level and MA, M.Sc., and Master of Social Work degree courses at the postgraduate level. The College also offers Diploma and PG Diploma courses.
Candidates have to apply online.
Candidate applying for the undergraduate level courses should have passed the 2nd PUC/Class XII with English as compulsory subjects and obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized board.
To apply for the postgraduate level courses, candidates must be a graduate and have a bachelors degree.
Admission to most of the courses is done on the basis of marks secured in the highest level of education and/or Interview conducted by the college on the basis of merit.
Admission to B.A.(Visual Communication), EJP, BCA, B.Voc., and PG Diploma courses is done on the basis of the marks secured in the entrance examination and Interview conducted by the college.

St Joseph's College, Bangalore offers BA degree in 10 specializations, B.Sc. degree in 11 specializations, B.Com, BCA, B.Voc. in 2 specializations, and Bachelor of Social Work degree courses at the undergraduate level.
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board to be eligible to apply for BA, BCA, B.Voc., and B. Com programs. For B.Sc. program, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/or Biology as subjects from a recognized board.
There will be entrance exams for B.A (Visual Communication), EJP, BCA, and B.Voc. courses. There will be no entrance exams for all other undergraduate courses
Selection of candidates for admission process is done on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying/entrance examination and/or interview conducted by the college. A merit list is prepared on the basis of applicants marks at qualifying/entrance examination and/or performance in the Interview. Applicants are called for admission process as per the merit list prepared by the college.
