All SC/ST candidates are eligible for the relaxation of 5%.
For BCA, B. Com. and B.Voc. courses candidates must have Mathematics and English as a compulsory subject.
English should be medium of instruction at 10+2.
St Joseph's College, Bangalore offers MA in 4 specializations, M.Sc. in 7 specializations, and Master of Social Work degree courses at the postgraduate level.
The college also offers PG Diploma in 6 specializations at the postgraduate level
Candidates must have graduation/bachelors degree in the relevant subject(s) or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA of any recognized University/College/Institute to be eligible to apply for the postgraduate degree & diploma program.
Selection of candidates for admission process is done on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying marks and/or interview conducted by the University. A merit list is prepared based on applicants marks at the graduation level and his/her performance in the Interview. The shortlisted candidates are called for admission process as per the merit list.

Admission Eligibility St Joseph's College
A candidate, who has passed two year PUC examination of Karnataka State consisting of at least two Science subjects as optional or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for admission to B.Sc. degree course. However, for PCM, CBZ and PEM, candidates should have studied all three subjects in the +2 level.
A candidate for the B.Sc. degree shall opt at least two of the optional subjects which he/she had studied at the +2 level.
A candidate opting Physics as an optional subject in the B.Sc degree course should have studied Mathematics as an optional subject in addition to Physics as another optional subject at the +2 level.
A candidate opting Statistics as an optional subject in the degree course should have studied Science with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the +2 level.
A candidate opting Botany, Applied Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Zoology as optional subjects at the B.Sc. degree course should have studied Biology as an optional subject at the +2 level.
BCA, BBA, BA, BSC, B.Voc Course in St Joseph's College
A pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / IGCSE / IB) from any recognized Board in India or abroad.Candidates, who are from non-Science streams, should have studied any of the following subjects at the +2 level: Mathematics, Computer Science or Electronics. Candidates who have passed two years Pre-University Course of Karnataka State or its equivalent are eligible for admission to this course. A candidate who has passed two year PUC examination of Karnataka State with any combination of optional subjects or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission to BA course. Graduates who have secured 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects and 50% of marks in the cognate subject at the Bachelors Degree level OR Graduates who have studied Public Administration (with 50% marks) at their Degree OR those who have studied Political Science as a subject in the first three years of Five years B.A.B.L / B.A.LLB Course. The Student should have done graduation from recognised university. A Bachelors degree in any subject of a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks. A pass in the 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream or Diploma in any Engineering branch obtained from the Board of Technical Education, Karnataka State or equivalent examination. Candidates who have completed two years Pre-University Course of Karnataka State or its equivalent are eligible for admission to this course.
