Annamalai University for Distance Education, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1979. AU was given an "A" rating by NAAC in 2014 and is recognized by the AICTE, UGC, MCI, DCI, and NCTE. It also offers recognised by the DEC distance learning programs (Distance Education Council). The distance learning program at Annamalai University offers more than 500 courses.
