The causes of temporary hair loss in women
Temporary hair loss last between three and four months, they are spread over the entire scalp, and there is no specific affected areas. They are sometimes impressive - women feel they lose their hair by the handful - but regrowth is immediate, which does not cause baldness. These falls are usually related to a psychological shock, hormonal changes (childbirth, miscarriage, abortion, stopping an estrogen plus progestin contraception, hormone therapy in menopausal substitution) or medical intervention (major surgery, long anesthesia General).
The reasons for the sustained hair loss in women
Hair loss in women may be a consequence of depression or prolonged stress disorder, a micronutrient deficiency (zinc, iron, magnesium, calcium), especially linked to a slimming diet too restrictive or anorexia, but also thyroid problems, diabetes or an excess of bad cholesterol. Hair loss is not so localized, it extends to the entire scalp and occurs about two to four months after the event that caused it. It can be irreversible and result in a refinement of the hair.
