difference between a com and net domain

Imagine you have an agency that helps small businesses move their businesses online. In this case, .com or .net could be very good options for you. .com because it's a generic extension, and .net because your business is really all about the internet.
However, if instead of an agency you own a beauty clinic and intend to create a website where your clients can order treatments or check prices... Does it make sense to use a .net domain? Basically not, but a lot has changed.
