RV College of Engineering Bangalore
RVCE Bangalore is a private technical co-educational college, started with only three undergraduate engineering branches in 1963. RVCE has 11 departments in engineering, one school of architecture, and a Master of Computer Applications department.
It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The undergraduate courses are granted academic autonomy by the university.
RVCE is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), all its departments are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and its school of Architecture is accredited by the Council of Architecture (COA).
It was founded and is managed by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust in Bangalore. It has been recognized as a center of excellence by the Union Government of India and is considered as the most preferred college in Bangalore to study engineering.
The college has twinning programs and collaborations with many institutions across the world, as well as collaborations with the industry. The annual festival of the college is called 8th Mile, and each of the departments hosts its own festivals.
The students of RVCE operate many student projects, most notable being the ones supported by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and the ones that participate in the competitions conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
RVCE Infrastructure

The campus of RVCE Bangalore is huge and is also very beautiful. There is a separate block for each department. The academic infrastructure is top class. Labs are of course well-equipped and also have equipment which is not usually found in any other colleges of the city.
The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, which however isn t very reliable. The library is pretty big and has a lot of books. But it needs to enhance its collection as some of the books are not found in sufficient numbers.
Hostels for 2nd and final year are new and they re nice. The first year s hostels are average. But the 3rd year hostels are old and in a pathetic condition.
There are just 4 bathrooms between 64 students. Mess food is fine but offers no variety to students. Hostel charges are Rs 45,000 a year including mess charges.
There are 2 canteens but no variety is available in either. Only the south Indian food tastes good; north Indian food also tastes like south Indian most of the time. Sitting space is also not enough for the strength of students. The good part is that it s very reasonably priced.

The faculty members at RV College of Engineering are excellent. Some of the subjects were handled by quality lecturers who have worked in the field for more than 20 years. When the basics are strong, learning is easier.
The lectures are usually presentations unless the subject is more mathematical and needs a numerical approach to solve the problem. Every 20 students fall under a counselor who takes care of the ward whenever there is a problem.
The internal marks are mailed and messaged to the parents every time so that the parents have a clear vision of his ward s progress. A lot of the labs are industry-funded and the experiments are considered from the suggestions of alumni of the branch in that field. So, as a whole, the curriculum is very good.
The program offers industry involvement by giving provisions for industry internships and projects, which is very good for a student s career.

Around 10,000 people come together at 8th Mile to celebrate. Predominantly among them, students and young professionals in the age group of 15 to 35.
