The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses through the autonomous schemes; the M.Tech program of the department got its autonomous status in 2016. The department has 24 well qualified and eminent faculties with 7 Doctorates and 18 continuing Ph.D. in reputed universities.
Faculty of this department have been executed many research projects supported by NRB, General Motors (R&D), DRDO, AICTE, Armament Research Board, Naval Research Board, UGC, GE (R&D), Technological Development for Indian Languages (TDIL) and others.
