When probing for a hollow on a tooth, a dentist aspect for any mark on the radiograph that designates or proposes that the thickness of any share of the tooth s firm hardened matters (coating and/or dentin) is dissimilar than usual or anticipated. The coating outer casing of a tooth displays the sunniest hue. That s because it has more inorganic content than the other portions.

That s because the rotten part of the tooth is less firm (less thick or complete) and so the x-rays enter that part of the tooth more effortlessly and eventually picture the film more so (making the conforming part on the film look dimmer).
When assessing a radiograph:
The warning to the dentist that a difficulty occurs is that the dim part on the representation includes a site or facet of the tooth that in fitness wouldn t be anticipated to be less thick (have abridged inorganic content).
And typically, there are certain parts on a tooth that are more prone to deterioration than others (like right in the area of interaction amid two teeth). So if the dim spot resembles that kind of site, it is particularly telling.
