Dr. H.N. Shivashankar, Director of the college with over 48 years of teaching experience is associated with RNSIT from 2003. He has published a number of research papers and two of them have fetched him gold medals. He has authored popular books such as Basic Electronics, C Programming, etc. He was a Fulbright scholar and was at the University of Southern California. He has served UVCE as a distinguished Professor & Principal and also as Chairman of Department of Electronics and Computer Science and Dean, Faculty of Engineering of Bangalore University. He has also served as Executive Council member of VTU. He was honoured with Rotary Award Guru Vandana (2013) by Karnataka Governor & Teacher of the Millennium Award for his valuable services to the community & students in particular. Dr. Rama Nagappa Shetty is an Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist and an educationist. Rama Nagappa Shetty formed the R N Shetty & Company, a partnership firm. In 1966, he moved out of his native district and began operations from Hubli, a major city in northern Karnataka. At present he is the owner of R N Shetty Group of companies which includes RNS Infrastructure Limited, RNS Maruti Suzuki (RNS Motors), Murdeshwar Ceramics and Naveen Hotel Limited and he is also Chairman of a chain of educational institutions under the R N Shetty trust. Dr. M.K. Venkatesha, Principal (since 2008), RNSIT is a JC Bose Gold Medalist and has more than 35 years of teaching experience. He completed his Post Graduation from the University of Manitoba (CANADA) on a fellowship. He is also the recipient of best teacher award at RNSIT. He has published a number of research papers with many citations. He brings with him a rich experience of working as a Registrar (Evaluation) of VTU, Belagavi (2001-04), Adviser of AICTE, New Delhi (2004-05) & Principal of BMSCE, Bengaluru (2005-08).
