The Department of Civil Engineering of RV College was established in the year 1964 with B.E. in Civil Engineering, which one of the oldest engineering programs. The department of civil engineering has been imparting quality education to meet the technological advancement and industrial requirements.
The present intake for the undergraduate civil engineering program is 120 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi with an Autonomous status.
The Department has been started two postgraduate programs in Structural Engineering and Highway Technology with the total intake of 36 under VTU Belgaum. Research and Development (R&D) under Civil Engineering Department of RV College is a recognized research centre under VTU. The Department is involved in R&D works offers consultancy services and conduct training programmes for industry and government organizations.
Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Industry Institute interaction is nurtured by organizing and coordinating frequent industrial visits, Expert Lectures, Seminars. The Candidate need Admission in RV College for B.E. in Civil Engineering, he or she has to follow :-
Candidates having minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates), in the qualifying examination, are eligible to apply for the B.Arch course.
A. P.U.C / 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics / Business Mathematics (for candidates with commerce stream) as subject of examination at the 10+2 level.
OR
B. 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/ State Governments.
OR
C. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
Admission Procedure
Admissions in RV College of Engineering are done as per the Government of Karnataka norms and the Admission Matrix is announced by them.
Out of th total seats 45% of the seats are filled by the Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), 30% of seats are filled through Common Entrance Test conducted by Private Management Association (COMEDK) and 25% of seats are filled by Management Quota.
Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), a state agency for candidates who are domicile of Karnataka for seven year or more.
Common Entrance Tect conducted by Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering, Medical and Dental Colleges Association Authority (COMEDK) for both Karnataka & Non-Karnataka Students aspiring for Engineering, Medical and Dental Admission in Karnataka.
