ITINERARY
05 DAY / 04 NIGHT
Ratha Yatra or The Chariot festival is the most important festival of Lord Jagannath commences on the 14th July Saturday and Return Car Festival or Bahuda Jatra on 22nd July this year 2018. This colourful Ratha yatra festival at Bissamcuttack attracts many indigenous tribal communities. Lord Jagannath, Lord of the Universe, comes out of His sanctum sanctorum to give Darshan to all Devotees belonging to all sects and communities. lt is said that those who take part in the Car Festival earn their passage to the Heaven. Beating of drums, mridangas and the tribal folk dance during the festival set the mood. Cries of jai Jagannath, jai jagannath will thick the air throughout the day. The return car festival in Puri is truly exciting for the colourful procession of Deities along with pilgrim activities. The return chariot festival at Puri is also a photographer s delight.
DAY 01 10TH JULY (TUE): VISAKHAPATNAM
Arrival Visakhapatnam from Delhi/Mumbai/Hyderabad/Chennai and transfer to hotel.
Visit the Simanchal temple in the afternoon and take a walk on the popular marine drive. Orientation of the tour by our guide and welcome drink hosted by us.
DAY 02 11TH JULY (WED): DESIA
(www.desiakoraput.com) in the morning board the spectacular train ride through the valley and tunnels to Araku (4 HRS) and then by road to DESIA.
Warm welcome by the local host community. Visit the adopted village and interact with the locals.
Back to Desia and stay.
DAY 03 12TH JULY (THU): DESIA BONDA TRIBE WEEKLY MARKET/DESIA
In the morning visit Ounkadelli market to meet most indigenous Bonda tribes. Also meet Gadaba and Didayi tribes in this market and the DUDUMA waterfalls .stay at DESIA.
DAY 04 13TH JULY (FRI): DESIA KUNDULI RAYAGADA
Visit today the largest weekly market for paraja, mali tribes and cattle trade. Further drive to rayagada and overnight stay in a decent hotel. Enroute visit the minapai basket making village.
DAY 05 14TH JULY (SAT): RATHAYATRA FESTIVAL AT BISSAMCUTTACK
Witness the colourful Ratha Yatra festival at Bissamcuttack. This festival attracts a good number of dunguria hill tribes. Enjoy the day with festive ambience and drive back to Rayagada and overnight stay.
