From the year 2010-11, NIOS has introduced 100% On-line admission in order to facilitate learners in registering themselves with it.

There are four streams of On-line admission catering to the learners with different needs. The admissions in these four streams are mutually exclusive i.e., learner can only opt for one of them.
On-line Admission for all learners (Stream 1): This stream for On-line Admission is open for all the learners as per the laid down eligibility criteria for Secondary and Senior Secondary level.

Learners taking admission through On-line under Stream-1 will be attached to the AI (Study Centre) as opted by them at the time of admission and will be eligible for TOC as per conditions
On-line Admissions for learners wanting to appear in October-November examinations (Stream2):
This stream for On-line admission is open for all those learners who had appeared but could not clear the Public Examination of Secondary/ Senior Secondary Levels from any recognized Examination Board for the same subject combination in which they had appeared. The learners of this stream will be eligible to appear in the October-November, Public Examinations of NIOS in Secondary/Senior Secondary, on the basis of mark-sheet/admit card of the respective Boards. The learners registered under the stream will be eligible for TOC as per guideline.

On-line Admission for learners wanting to appear in On Demand Examination System (ODES) of NIOS for Secondary Level (Stream 3):
This stream for On-line admission is open throughout the year for those learners who have already passed Secondary from recognized Board and want to take part admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for updating their qualification or learners who had appeared but could not clear the Public Examination of Secondary level from any recognized Board and want to appear through On Demand Examination System of NIOS for Secondary level only. The scheme is available through On Demand Examination at NIOS Regional Centre Bhubaneswar. Headquarter at NOIDA.

On-line Admission for learners wanting to appear in On Demand Examination System (ODES) of NIOS for Senior Secondary level (Stream 4):
This stream for On-line admission is open throughout the year for those learners who have already passed Senior Secondary or above from any recognized Board/University and want to take part admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for updating their qualification or learners who had appeared but could not clear the Public examination of Senior Secondary level from any recognized Board in the same subject combination in which they had appeared and want to appear through On Demand Examination System of NIOS at Senior Secondary level. The learner has to submit his/her admission form along with the original failed/passed mark sheet issued by the Board for confirmation of the admission. The scheme is available through On Demand Examination at NIOS Regional Centre.

10. PROCEDURE FOR NIOS ON-LINE ADMISSION DIRECTLY BY LEARNERS FOR OCTOBER SEASON 2016@9643289714,9990177029

The procedure for On-line Admission for all above four streams is as follows
Log on to NIOS website www.nios.ac.in
Complete information about online Admission/Examination including the fees
details and its submission is displayed.
Learner registers himself with NIOS website by submitting an e-mail ID and password.
Access/display of Online Admission Form and filling-up of the Admission Form and attaching the image of the student s photograph as indicated.
FEES FOR ON-LINE ADMISSION
There will be three options for the payment of fees
(A) The fee can be deposited On-line through Credit Card (Master/Visa) Debit Card (visa only of select banks), or
(B) Through Bank Draft of any nationalised bank only in favour of Secretary, NIOS payable at Bhubaneswar
only in case of Stream-2, 3 and 4 received within a week of Online registration.
(C) The required admission fee can be deposited through challan, which is available on NIOS website and also at all the branches of Syndicate and Indian Bank. Bank branch will collect fee and return two copies of bank challan after issuance of acknowledgement and putting a unique number on to the bank challan receipt. The bank will charge Rs. 6/- (Rs. Six only) per student for this facility.
Once an application is submitted for processing to NIOS, an Acknowledgement Receipt is generated and sent back to the learner, e-mail ID indicating his/her unique Reference Number, his/her personal details, fees details, etc.
The learner will be required to send a print-out of the internet filled in Application Form (not the
acknowledgement receipt) along with demand draft in case of payment option (B) and relevant
documents at the address given in the instructions within a week of registration. Confirmation of
admission of On-line learners will be subject to the receipt of the Application Form alongwith the
required documents and requisite fees. If the form are not received within another 10 days at
Regional Centre your admission may be cancelled.
Procedure for On-line Admission through AI (Study Centre)/Facilitation Centre
All AIs/Study Centres of NIOS are authorised to open an On-line registration counter for facilitating learners in taking On-line admission. They will also help the learners in pre-admission counselling, choice of study centres/Course, Medium of Instruction, transfer of credit, Credit accumulatin and other flexible features of NIOS etc,. The AI will follow the same procedure for On-line registration. The AI will provide a copy of acknowledgement containing the reference number generated by computer to students for future correspondence with NIOS.
