    Date: 26/12/09: Raipur - Jagdalpur (Bastar)

    On your arrival at Raipur airport, you will be welcomed by our representatives. After meet and greet, we drive to Jagdalpur (300 km), the district headquarter of the famous Bastar tribal region. Jagdalpur offers an ideal base to explore the unique tribal villages and amazing wildlife of the region. On the way to Jagdalpur, enjoy a picnic lunch at the Keshkal. Here you get the first glimpse of the enchantingly beautiful lush green surroundings of Keshkal and Bastar. Arrive at Jagdalpur and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at Jagdalpur.

    Date: 27/12/09: Jagdalpur - Kanger Valley National Park - Chitrakote -Kanker

    After breakfast, we drive to the famous Kanger Valley National Park. Kanger Valley is known for its unique wildlife and beautiful and verdant surroundings, regarded as one of the finest virgin forests tracts on earth. We'll also explore one of the limestone caves of the region, known for beautiful stalagmite and stalactite formations. This is tribal country and meeting the tribal people in their homes would surely be a fascinating experience for you. Visit some of the tribal homes and interact with them to learn something about their culture. Enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch at the famous Tiratgarh Fall. The enchanting Tiratgarh Fall offers a spectacular view to its visitors.

    After lunch, enjoy an excursion to beautiful Chitrakote Falls. The horseshoe shaped Chitrakote Waterfall is created by the Indravati River and famously called the 'Niagara of India'. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Chitrakote Falls and be mesmerized by the rainbows arching across the turbulent flow. In the evening, we drive to Kanker. Overnight stay will be at Kanker.

    Date: 28/12/09: Kanker - Dhamtari - Sirpur - Mahasamund

    After breakfast we drive to major tourist attractions of Dhamtari like famous Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to an amazing variety of wildlife and birds. Other worth visiting attractions in Dhamtari includes Madamsilli Dam, Sondhur Dam, and Dudhawa Dam. All these dams offer spectacular views and are popular picnic spots of the district. On your Dhamtari Tour, you can also enjoy visits to Tribal Villages to get an insight into the unique tribal culture of the region. Located at just about 50 km from Raipur.

    Sirpur is an enchanting and historically significant tourists’ destination of Chhattisgarh on the Kawardha - Kanker road. The ancient city of Sirpur (also called Shirpur) has been mentioned in ancient epigraphic records, dating back to the 5th to the 8th centuries A.D. The city was once the capital of the Sarbhapuriya and Somvanshi Kings of Dakshin (south) Kosala and was an important Buddhist centre. It was even visited by Hiuen Tsang, the great Chinese traveler and scholar, around 635 AD. The small but interesting town of Sirpur has many beautiful temples worth visiting on Sirpur Tour. Other famous attractions of Sirpur are the Gandheshwar Temple and the Buddha Vihara. The most interesting features of the Sirpur is that archeological objects associated with the various sects and religions like Shaiv, Vaishnav, Jain and Buddhism (of approximately the same age) have been found side by side. A tour to Sirpur promises to be a rewarding experience for you.

    Date: 29/12/09: Mahasamund - Shivrinarayan - Kharaud - Malhar - Bilaspur

    Shivrinarayan is a place of religious significance in Bilaspur District of Chhattisgarh. According to legends, Shivrinarayan is the place where Lord Ram ate the 'Ber' fruit offered by a tribal lady Shabari. Uniqueness is that Lord Ram ate the fruits that had been tasted by Shabari herself. The poor and simple hearted Shabari tasted each of them just to ensure that her lord get only the sweetest of the lot. Shivrinarayan is the confluence point of two major rivers: Mahanadi and Shivnath. Narayan Temple and Chandrachudeshwar Temple are among the ancient shrines in the area.
    Kharaud is famous for its religious importance. Kharaud has also so many ancient temples in which Lakshamaneshwar Temple and Temple of Shabri made of bricks are very famous.

    After breakfast we drive to Malhar used to be an important center during the Kulchuri regime. The archaeological department has setup a museum where the many artifacts recovered during the excavations have been displayed. The twin villages of Malhar and Budikhar are littered with many old time artifacts which is very common place for the local residents. Amongst the prominent findings are the temples of Didneshwari, Pataleshwar and Dewari. The temple of Didneshwari is very popular and people from far and wide come to offer their prayers here. The beautiful black idol of Didneshwari Devi (shown alongside) is really delighted to see.

    Date: 30/12/09: Bilaspur - Ratanpur - Khuntaghat - Chaiturgarh - Amarkantak

    Ratanpur was originally known as Ratnapur after its founder King Ratnadev. The ruler had founded the city as the capital of the Kalchuri Dynasty in 1000 AD and it remained an important place in the region for centuries that followed. The temple town, Ratanpur, is situated about 25 kilometers from Bilaspur on the Bilaspur - Ambikapur Highway.
    Today it is recognized as a major religious center of the region that has national acclaim. Devotees visit the Mahamaya temple all round the year to offer their prayers and seek blessings of the deity from far and wide. Mahamaya temple has gained recognition as a Sidh Peeth and is the most popular religious places in the Chhattisgarh.

    Khuntaghat is a dam built on River Kharung. Located about 33 Kms from Bilaspur on the Bilaspur Ambikapur National Highway it has matured into a picnic spot over the years. It has a beautiful garden. The picturesque landscape of Khuntaghat all round the year never fails to impresses all the tourists who visit this place.

    Chaiturgarh is one of the 36 forts of Chhattisgarh. It was constructed by Raja Prithvidev First of Ratanpur on one of the hills of Maikal range. Chaiturgarh (also known as Lafagarh) is situated at a height of 3060 feet on the hill top. It is protected by strong natural walls and is considered as one of the strongest natural forts. The fort has three main entrances named as Menaka, Humkara, and Simhadwar.On the hilltop there is a plain area having an area of about 5 sqkm where there are five ponds. Three of these ponds have water all round the year. The hillocks of Chaiturgarh are famous for their natural beauty and the adventurous experiences it offers. Many types of wild animals and birds are found here.

    Amarkantak, the hill station, lies in the newly created district of Anuppur, in Madhya Pradesh. It is situated on the Maikal mountain range which links the Vindhyachal and Satpura mountain ranges, at about 1067 meters above mean sea level. Many mythological stories relating to Lord Shiva and his daughter Narmada have been woven around this mystical town of Amarkantak
    Sonmuda
    The point of origin of the Sone river. It is also a sunrise point
    Bhrigumandal
    It is around 3 Kms. from Amarkantak on a difficult forest trek route. It is believed that Bhrigu Rishi meditated here. The Parasvinayak and Chandi caves are on this route.
    Kapildhara
    At a distance of 8 Kms from the origin of river Narmada, the river falls from a height of 100 feet creating a waterfall known as Kapildhara. It is believed that the Kapil Rishi meditated here.
    Dudhdhara
    At a distance of 1 Km. from Kapildhara there is another beautiful waterfall on the river Narmada called Dudhdhara.
    Sarvodya Jain Temple
    It is considered a construction marvel. Cement and iron have not been used in this temple and the weight of the idol to be placed in the temple is around 24 Tones.

    Date: 31/12/09: Amarkantak - Kanha National Park

    After breakfast, we drive straight to the famous Kanha National Park. Kanha is one of the most famous and picturesque tiger reserves of India, offering the best of opportunities for tracking and photographing tigers in their own habitat. Arrive at Kanha and check into the Hotel/Resort. In the evening, enjoy the tribal folk dances and music around a bonfire.

    Date: 01/01/10: Kanha National Park - Kawardha

    After breakfast, enjoy a morning Jeep Safari through the scenic landscape of Kanha to explore its enchanting surroundings and amazing wildlife. Later, we drive to Kwardha in Chhattisgarh. Arrive and check into the beautiful Kawardha Palace/ Hotel.
    After freshen up, enjoy an exciting and memorable trip to the surrounding tribal villages, along with one of the royal family member of Kawardha. Here, you will have your glimpse of tribal life of the famous Bastar region. Overnight stay will be at Kawardha.

    Date: 02/01/10: Kawardha - Raipur

    After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Kawardha to discover the secrets of Kawardha's little-known natural and tribal world. Visit some tribal villages and meet the friendly Baiga people, the principal indigenous forest tribe of the region. Also enjoy, a picnic lunch with them. Later we drive to Raipur (02 hrs) to reach by the noon. If time permits, enjoy a short visit to Mahant Ghasidas Museum in Raipur.
    Drop at Air port / Railway Station.

A confirmed booking is when we have informed you that the travel service request or hotel room is available and has been reserved. Only written cancellation request (e-mail or fax) will be accepted.     15 - 30 days 60% will be refunded
    7 - 14 days 50% will be refunded
    Less than 7 days or No show or early check out: No Refund
    The refund will be made through bank transfer or through your credit card, depending on the original method of purchase. Additionally, although Festal Tours will instruct the bank to handle the crediting process immediately upon notification of cancellation, it could take from 4 to 6 weeks for the actual crediting to take place, depending on your Bank's practice.
