About the College
Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust was established in the year 1940 Sri. M.C. Shivanada Sarma, a mightly man of miracles hailing from a small village near Mysore & established a primary school with only 6 students in this city of Bangalore. He approached a number of Philanthropists and merchants & with their donation started building R.V. Institutions.
The following institutions are managed by the Trust under the able guidance of Dr. M.K.Panduranga Setty, a leading industrialist of Karnataka & also the Rotary International Director & a team of dedicated trustees. The trust has been rendering a yeoman service in the field of education.
D.A. Pandu Memorial R.V Dental College was established in the year 1992 formerly affiliated to Bangalore University & presently to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, approved & recognized by Dental Council of India. The D.A. Pandu Memorial R.V. Dental College & Hospital is located in a spacious building & equipped with the state of the art equipments to treat Dental & Oral Diseases. The D.A. Pandu Memorial R.V. Dental College has a academically sound faculty in all the branches of Dentistry with meny experience.
The College offers the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course, that is of 5 years duration, including one year of compulsory rotatory internship. At present the college is imparting training in BDS degree (Bachelor of Dental Surgery). The College offeres Postgraduate course in all the 9 specialties of Dentistry
The College has been involved distinctively in the field of Community Dental Health Programme in rural areas. The details of this has been furnished. Our institution was the first to have Mobile Dental Van in Bangalore city. The equipment was donated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, USA. The objective of this programme was to expose our students to work in the rural setup of our country,to enable them to work in rural areas after graduating. The institution has organized a number of continuing dental education programs, Lectures & Workshops involving various National & International Speakers which has enabled our students & faculty to acquaint themselves with the recent advances.
The Library is well equipped with books & periodicals, Photocopying, Scanning & Printing facilities. The facility to browse the Internet is also available. Computers & laptops have been provided in all the departments. These whole campus is Wi fi enabled.
The faculty members of the institution have presented scientific papers in National & International conferences & also published article in Journals of national and international repute. The Institution has completed research projects including one sponsored by UNICEF / DRDO.
The Trust is committed to make this institution a model-training centre in the filed of Community Oral health Programme, so that, the health workers and professionals from all over the world can utilize the services & interact with local health professionals for the benefit of Humanity.

The department of Pedodontics has taken up unique school health programme involving the school children in Hosur supported by TVS group. For a candidate seeking admission to course
Qualifying Examination
Shall have passed the two years Pre-University Examination of Pre-University Board of Karnataka with English and Physics Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects
OR
Shall have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate Education established by State Governments/ Central Government and recognised as equivalent to two year Pre University examination by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and the candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually.
OR
Shall have passed Intermediate examination in Science of an Indian University/Board/Council or other recognised examining bodies with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as compulsory subject
OR
Shall have passed pre- professional/ pre- medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination
Qualifying Marks:
In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to BDS course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste , s Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% as above and must have passing marks in English

In case of admission on the basis of competitive entrance examination, a candidate must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination and in addition must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of such competitive entrance examination by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the competitive examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes notified by the Government, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination be 40% instead of 50% as stated above. (Vide Amendment to DCI Regulations, 2007, notified in Gazette of Government of India dated 10.09.2007)
Age Requirement
The candidate shall have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete this age on 31st December of the year in which he/she seeks admission.

A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a recognized degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognized Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council.
Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS Course of any University in India.
CERTIFICATE COURSES IN AESTHETICS AND IMPLANTOLOGY
A candidate for admission to the CERTIFICATE COURSES IN AESTHETICS AND IMPLANTOLOGY must have a recognized degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognized Dental College
PhD Courses
For a candidate seeking admission to PhD
A post Graduate Qualification with at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B in the UGC 7- point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) are eligible for enrollment for Ph.D course. A relaxation of 5% marks, (from 55% to 50%), or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
