The Institute was established in the year 1956 and is a State Govt. Aided institution approved by AICTE & affiliated to Haryana State Board of Technical Education.
Institute offers Technical Education in 3-year diploma courses in CIVIL ENGG., ELECTRICAL ENGG., MECHANICAL ENGG., ELEX & COMM. ENGG., COMPUTER ENGG. & PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY. Institute is a Govt. Aided institution having Govt. (Aided) as well as private seats.
Qualification for admission in 1st year is matriculation with passing marks in English, science & math.
Qualification for admission in 2nd year is 10+2 with PCM or concerned branch of ITI.
Fee for Govt. (Aided) seats is Rs.2450 per semester + one time security of Rs.1500/- which is same as of other Govt. Polytechnics.
Fee for private seats is Rs.15000 per semester + one time security of Rs. 1500/- which is very low as compared to other private institutions.
Institute is located on NH-10 (Delhi Road) with its campus spreading over a land of 20 acres in the neighborhood of M.D. University, Rohtak and PGIMS, Rohtak. Institute is 70 Kms away from National Capital Delhi. It is well connected by rail as well as by road.
Institute has a Multi- Storey Workshop which comprises various shops and laboratories. All shops and labs are well equipped with State of Art Machinery & equipments. Institute has adequate residential facility for the students. It has two hostels, one for boys & one for girls.
Institute believes in Overall Personality Development of its students. Academic, Sports and Cultural activities go hand in hand round the year. Seminars and Guest lectures on various issues are being conducted from time to time.
Huge numbers of placements have been made through Training & Placement Cell in various reputed companies like HCL, L & T, JINDAL GROUP, TATA MOTORS, TECH. MAHINDRA etc.

NCC troop started around 1961 under Rohtak group. We have got a platoon of 54 cadets.
The library of the institute caters to the need of faculty and students having total books of 31016. In terms of titles, availability is 8358. The library subscribes to many national journals. The library is abundant in rich collection of journals, periodicals, books, newspapers and manuscript along with the reference sources including dictionaries, encyclopaedias, hand books, year books, Atlas etc. It serves a seating of 70 students girded with a peaceful ambience
