Eligibility for the Admission to BDS Course:
Admission to BDS course is strictly made on the basis of merit in the Combined Entrance Test (CPMT) conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
The candidate should have already completed or should complete the age of 17 years and must not have completed 25 years of age on 31st December of the year of the concerned competitive examination.
The candidate should have been duly qualified in any of the following examinations:
10+2 new course examination of a University / Board established by law in India with Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects which shall include a practical test in Science subjects with 50% marks (40% marks for Scheduled Castes / Tribes / Other Backward Classes) provided the candidate has qualified the subject of English as an elective subject in the above examination or an equivalent examination of Board / University established by law in India.
OR
The B.Sc. Degree with 50% marks (40% marks for Scheduled Castes / Tribes / Other Backward Classes) of a University established by law in India with any three out of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physiology, Physics, Human Anatomy and Biochemistry as subjects; provided that such a candidate must have passed the Pre- medical or an equivalent examination of Board / University established by law in India.
OR
Any examination of a University, Board, College or School in a foreign country, recognized as equivalent for the purpose by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi .
Diploma Course in Dental Hygienist : 10 Seats
Diploma Course in Dental Mechanic : 10 Seats

Eligibility for the Admission to Dental Hygienist & Dental Mechanic:-
The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from H.P. Board of School Education with science subject ( i.e.) Physics, Chemistry and Biology or two years intermediate or equivalent course from the recognized School Board, pre-university / Intermediate Board in India with minimum 50 % marks for General Category candidates and 40 % marks in case of SC/ST/OBC Categories.
If the adequate number of candidates are not available or not fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria of minimum 50 % for General category candidates and 40 % for case of SC/ST/OBC Categories in 10+2 examination then the relaxation of 5 % will be given to both categories i.e. 45 % for General Category and 35 % for case of SC/ST/OBC Categories.
A candidate should already have completed at least 17 years of age at the time of admission or within 3 months of it and should be medically fit to pursue the course and must not have completed 30 years of age.
