ABOUT PERMANENT RESIDENT VISA
An Australian permanent resident (permanent resident) is the name given to a non-citizen who is the holder of a permanent visa. A permanent resident can live, work and study without restriction in Australia.
Skilled Regional Provisional Visa
The Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) is for skilled people who want to live and work in a specified designated area in Australia.
Successful applicants are granted a four year temporary visa to give them time to satisfy the residence and employment criteria for a permanent visa.
Applicants (including secondary applicants) must live, work and study only in a specified regional area of Australia for at least two years.
Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)
The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) is specifically designed to assist regional employers nominate skilled migrants to fill a full time vacancy (available for at least two years) when there is a genuine need for a paid employee in a business located in regional Australia.
The RSMS category is not points tested and applicants may be overseas or already in Australia on a temporary visa. RSMS covers all areas of Australia except Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne.
Generally, applicants under the RSMS need to be less than 50 years of age, meet a certain level of English language proficiency and have qualifications and skill requirements relevant to the nominated occupation.
ABOUT BUSINESS VISA
This visa allows you to:
Own and manage a business in Australia (the Business Innovation stream)
Conduct business and investment activity in Australia (the Investor stream, the Significant Investor stream and the Premium Investor stream)
Undertake an entrepreneurial activity in Australia (Entrepreneur stream)
The Significant Investor visa is a stream within the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (Subclass 188) visa and the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) (Subclass 888) visa. The purpose of the visa is to provide a boost to the Australian economy and to compete effectively for high net worth individuals seeking investment migration. Significant Investor Visa (SIV) holders are required to invest AUD5million into complying significant investments for a minimum of four years before being eligible to apply for a permanent visa.
The Premium Investor visa (PIV) is a stream within the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (Subclass 188) visa and the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) (Subclass 888).
The purpose of the Premium Investor visa is to attract a small number of high net worth individuals to contribute their entrepreneurial skill or talent to Australia. The Premium Investor visa will require applicants to invest AUD15million into complying investments for a minimum of twelve months before being eligible to apply for a permanent visa.
ABOUT 457 or WORK VISA
The Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) allows skilled workers to come to Australia and work for an approved business for up to four years.
You must be sponsored by an approved business. A business can sponsor someone for this visa if they cannot find an Australian citizen or permanent resident to do the skilled work.

This visa is a permanent residence stream for skilled workers who want to work in regional Australia. It allows you to work in Australia in one of three streams

PARTNER VISA
The temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) allows you to live in Australia if you are the spouse or de facto partner of:
an Australian citizen
an Australian permanent resident
an eligible New Zealand citizen.
In some circumstances the visa can be granted where your partner relationship has ended.
The temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) is the first stage towards a permanent Partner visa (subclass 801). You must be in Australia when you apply and also when this visa is decided.
You lodge one application form for your temporary and permanent visas and pay one application charge. Your application is processed in two stages, about two years apart.
