    BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) DURATION OF COURSE :Degree Course 5years 6 months comprising : * I Professional 12 months * II Professional 12 months * III professional 12 months * IV Final Professional 18 months *Compulsory Internship 12 months FIRST PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION : i) The first professional examination shall be at the end of one academic year of first professional session. The first professional session will ordinarily start in July. ii)The first professional examination shall be held in the following subjects: Padarth Vigyan avam Ayurveda Itihas Sanskrit Kriya Sharir (Physiology) Rachna Sharir (Anatomy) Maulik Siddhant avam Ashtang Hridaya (Sutra Sthan) SECOND PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION: i) The second professional session shall start every year in the month of July following completion of first professional examination. ii) The second professional examination shall be held in the following subjects: Dravyaguna Vigyan (Pharmacology and Materia Medica) Rasashastra-Bhaishajya Kalpana (Pharmaceutical Science) Agad tantra Vyavhar Ayurved evam Vidhi Vaidyaka (Toxicology and Medical Jurisprudence) Charak-Purvardh THIRD PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION : i) The third professional session shall start every year in the month of July following completion of second professional examination. ii) The third professional examination shall be held in the following subjects: Roga Nidan vikriti Vigyan (Pathology & Microbiology) Chark Samhita Uttarardh Swastha Vritta & Yoga (Preventive and Social Medicine & Yoga) Prasuti & Striroga (Gynaecology & Obstetrics) Bal Roga (Paediatrics) FINAL PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION: i) The final professional session will be of 1 and year duration and shall start every year in the month of July following completion of third professional examination. ii) Final professional examination shall comprise of the following subjects: Shalya Tantra (General Surgery) Shalakya Tantra (Diseases of Head & Neck including Ophthalmology, ENT and Dentistry) Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine-including Manas Roga, Rasayan & Vajikarana) Panchakarma Research Methodology & Medical Statistics COMPULSORY INTERNSHIP: Duration of Internship: 1year The curriculum and syllabus are designed by Center Council of Indian Medicine (CCIUM). It is the apex body that Prescribes the syllabus for BAMS course throughout the country. The same syllabus is followed without deleting any part. ADMISSIONS BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and surgery) Eliigibility-Must have passed 12th standard in the first attempt with a minimum of 50% in Physics, chemistry and Biology taken together, from any state higher secondary Board or equivalent. NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who qualify from foreign universities will have to produce an equivalence certificate from the association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, candidates should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December in the year of admission. Admission Procedure* Selection is based on the rank obtained in the common entrance test/interview. COUNSELLING & ADMISSION (a) Counseling and admission will commence normally within two week from the date of announcement of results. Details of counseling such as the availability of seats and rank numbers called for counseling each day will be informed by the college to selected candidates. (b) Admissions will be made strictly on the basis of availability of seats. As soon as the seats are filled admissions will be closed.
