The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in their Endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admissions to the Member Institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” COMEDK
COMEDK has been assigned the task of organizing a Common Entrance Test for every academic year, for candidates aspiring to pursue Under Graduate courses Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges in the State of Karnataka, in member institutions of the Consortium (Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges).
Majority of students, every year, appear into COMEDK UGET, the only gateway to get MBBS admission in Karnataka.
As per last year records among 68,363 applicants for COMEDK, around 30,000 students appeared for MBBS admission only. Whereas number of COMEDK seats for medical is only 566.
