Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College, has been established in the year 1981 by Anandaa Social and Education Trust. The emblem of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College, is a symbolic expression of compassion and sacred service to be adopted for the practice of modern medicine.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College salutes Gautama The Buddha, ocean of compassion and Bharatha Rathna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Father of the Indian Constitution, the pole star guiding the destinies of the downtrodden of the society who inspired us to take upon ourselves the onerous task of running this institution. In this lush green campus of 25 acres of land at Kadugondanahalli, the Trust runs a Medical College including Hospital, School of Nursing, College of Nursing, Paramedical Institute which has colleges of Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology and Radiography.
The elegant and imposing college building with its beautiful architectural design attracts the attention of all visitors. It is well planned and accommodates the Administrative block, Trust office, departments and a modern OPD Block. The hospital with 600 beds is also situated on the campus. The college is now affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college runs the MBBS course as well as post-graduate courses in many subjects that are recognized by theMedical Council of India.
