Shift/-Based Industrial Processes Injection Moulding Operator Job Description Who you are/: Use approved setup recipes to safely start, operate, and cycle/-stop hydraulic or electric plastic injection molding equipment. Determine material mixing ratios, fill overhead drying hoppers with polymer plastic granules, and methodically add color masterbatches. Using precision deburring knives, manually cut off extra plastic sprues, runners, and flash burrs after removing molded plastic components from robotic pickers or machine ejector gates. Conduct ongoing visual inspections on hot parts straight out of the mold to quickly detect and distinguish common injection flaws. Use basic workshop metrology tools like digital vernier calipers and go/no/-go pin gauges to audit molded plastic wall thicknesses, boss hole diameters, and outside structural limitations.
