Tool Room Engineer Creation and Testing of Current Tools Job Description Duties/: Preventive Tooling Maintenance Governance/: Make sure that venting channels and parting lines are spotless by carrying out planned preventive maintenance cycles based on machine shot/-count targets.
Breakdown Troubleshooting & Defect Resolution/: Oversee quick toolroom interventions during production line stoppages, identifying and resolving faults caused by tooling, such as ejector pin jams, sink marks, flash, and drag lines. Precision Machining & Core Refurbishment/: Modify or rebuild damaged mold inserts using specialist toolroom equipment, such as high/-precision surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, and electrical discharge machining units.
Hot Runner System Management/: Use electrical diagnostic meters to replace malfunctioning heating manifolds, thermocouples, and valve gates in multi/-cavity hot runner systems. Tooling Lifecycle & Shot/-Count Tracking/: Utilize computer spreadsheets to keep track of the overall number of shots performed, modification histories, and part replacement timetables.
Update comprehensive technical record records for each mold asset. Focus Skills/: Advanced Mold Structural Assembly Mechanics/: Comprehensive operational knowledge of various mold architectures, such as sequential valve gating systems, lifters, unscrewing cores, slide/-core side actions, and multi/-plate structures.
Hot Runner Electrical Mapping Fluency/: Excellent ability to identify short circuits in hot runner manifolds, measure internal resistance values, and diagnose and map electrical circuits. Precision Polishing & Surface Treatment Techniques/: Excellent proficiency in sophisticated cavity polishing and optical mirror/-finishing without altering cavity dimensions or essential edge geometry.
