Utility Maintenance 3 to 5 yrs exp can apply
In an injection molding facility, Utility Maintenance is the backbone of the plant.
While production engineers focus on the injection moulding machines and tooling engineers focus on the molds,
utility maintenance technicians and engineers ensure that the secondary plant systems keep running.
The Core Plant Utilities
An injection molding plant relies heavily on four major utility pillars:
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Creating and executing PM schedules for all auxiliary equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns during production runs.
Breakdown Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnosing faults (e.g., if a cooling pump trips or an air compressor loses pressure) to minimize plant downtime.
Energy Management: Utilities account for the highest energy costs in a molding shop. Your job includes optimizing chiller setpoints and compressed air pressures to lower utility bills.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring boiler, pressure vessel, and electrical safety codes match local regulations. Implementing strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols during service.
