Qualification: Any Basic Degree
Accurately enter patient information, insurance information, and medical codes (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10) from source documents (such as superbills, patient charts, and encounter forms) into the billing system.
Verify a patient's insurance eligibility and benefits using online portals, phone calls to insurance companies, or other verification methods.
Collaborate with the coding and billing departments to ensure accurate and legitimate claim submissions.
Stay up to date on payer requirements, coding standards, and regulatory changes.
Observe HIPAA regulations and respect patient privacy.
